In the last issue, it was revealed that imported product represented eleven per cent of the total value of cut flower and foliage product produced or consumed in Australia for the 2012/2013 financial year. Of imported and domestic product combined, 89 per cent was Australian grown.
Let’s now take a closer look at the types and total values of products that are being imported into Australia. The information has come out of a project carried out by the Flower Association of Queensland Inc. (FAQI), with support from Horticulture Australia Limited (now Horticulture Innovation Australia Limited). The data shown were sourced from the Australian Bureau of Statistics
