The Flower Association initiated a project in partnership with Griffith University to look into the
use of plastics in the flower industry. The aim was to investigate environmentally-friendly floral sundries and packaging substitutes and make initial price comparisons to determine their commercial viability. The good news is that there is a number of biodegradable alternatives available to the vast array of plastic items currently used by the industry.
