Saving water and energy has never been more important for flower growers. Faced with rising costs and limited natural resources, efficient water management is essential for every production business, as well as for the environment and the community.
Lodi Pameijer and Lex McMullin have been working with growers on the Sunshine Coast to help them improve their water and energy use efficiency. Lodi and Lex are part of the project team for Rural Water Use Efficiency – Irrigation Futures (RWUE-IF), an initiative managed by the Flower Association of Queensland Inc. (FAQI) and funded by the Queensland Department of Natural Resources and Mines (DNRM).
Already in these early stages of the four-year project, growers have been impressed with the results.
